Retirement Planning and Pensions
|
Retirement planning is a concern for many people, with pensions more complex than ever before. It is difficult enough to keep track of how much you have invested in your pension fund – with the added difficulty of auto-enrolment and the likelihood that you may have multiple pension pots. Once you retire, there are also options to consider such as the tax-free lump sum cash or whether you are to purchase an annuity or use the income drawdown option. We aim to make the process simpler – giving you peace of mind in your working life, and ensuring you are able to enjoy your retirement to its fullest potential, having worked incredibly hard to do so. Our long-term, face-to-face service takes into account your whole situation and your aims for retirement. Our services include:
We also offer pension planning advice for companies and individuals, assisting in establishing or reviewing group pension schemes, as well as providing individual pension assessments for employees. The value of pension and investments and the income they produce can fall as well as rise. You may get back less than you invested. |
Investments
|
Whether your investment aim is to grow capital or to provide a regular income, we can help you at every stage. Our expert advice enables you to make the most appropriate decisions when planning regular investments, whether they are medium or long term objectives. We are always careful to tailor our advice to our knowledge of you – your situation, your goals, and your attitude to investment opportunities. This includes:
For some individuals, you may be interested in extra areas such as offshore planning: we can advise you if this is a viable option to make use of your capital. Warning: The value of investments and the income they produce can fall as well as rise. You may get back less than you invested. |
Inheritance Tax Planning
|
There is much uncertainty around inheritance – tax rates, what the laws are, and how to be as efficient as possible. However, it is important to have peace of mind so that your family can benefit from your inheritance wishes when the time comes. We aim to ensure that you and your loved ones are fully aware of what will happen to your assets and investments. Our services include

Asset Protections
PersonalTypically, our clients aim to build their assets with a particular objective in mind. This could be in the medium term, such as savings and investments for school fees or mortgages, or long term, such as pension planning. As well as providing investment advice to help reach your financial objectives, we aim to ensure there is protection in the event of unforeseen circumstances (such as illness or death) to ensure your loved ones are looked after. We will review your existing policies to make sure that they suit your specific requirements. Warning: the value of pension and investments and the income they produce can fall as well as rise. You may get back less than you invested. The Financial Conduct Authority does not regulate on Estate Planning. BusinessBusiness asset protection is often neglected. It is essential to protect your business assets to provide security in unforeseen circumstances such as illness, to help staff recruitment and retention, and to ensure your business partners and family are not made liable. Good business asset protection will consist of the following:
Group retirement planning and asset protection is also a crucial employee benefit, and will ensure you are able to attract and retain the very best staff. |

How we work with our clients
Client Journey
Stage 1
Initial meeting: finding out the facts
The initial meeting is a face-to-face meeting, typically at our office. The focus is on you – the client. We will establish what existing financial plans you have in place and, crucially, what your plans are moving forward. The more we know, the better we know you, and the more effectively and clearly we can offer you advice. We aim to understand your financial situation, your existing policies, the reasoning behind your decisions to date, and what your hopes and aspirations are for the future.
The meeting is also a chance for you to learn about us. We will explain what areas of advice we cover, how we are remunerated, our ongoing services, and importantly how we are regulated as a practice. The meeting will also give you the opportunity to ask questions in a confidential environment.
Stage 2
Building a bespoke plan
Once we have a better understanding of your financial aspirations and time frame from the initial meeting, we reflect carefully. Taking into account all your circumstances and ambitions, we will build a bespoke plan just for you – we do not just work from templates, or what worked for someone else. We would look to meet you again to provide you with a financial plan moulded to you.
Stage 3
Implementing that plan
If you are happy with our advice and want to proceed with the financial plan we have recommended, the next stage is implementing our recommendations. We are always available to give extra advice or to clarify the next steps.
Stage 4
Ongoing review
Implementing the initial plan is just the start of our adviser and client relationship. We will look to continue to review what we put in place for you, so it always mirrors your plans and financial aspirations. As and when needed, we can tweak and build on the initial advice given to you, responding to changes in your circumstances or fluctuations in the market.
